Phase 1

Multi-regional one-day seminars on koi herpesvirus (KHV) prevention and control will be offered in the spring and summer of 2007 to U.S. koi and water garden retailers and wholesalers as well as to koi hobbyists.  Veterinarians and fish health specialists with training in the current aspects and issues of KHV will teach these seminars.  This program is geared toward U.S. koi and water garden retailers and wholesalers and koi hobbyists who are interested in learning more about KHV and minimizing the risk of KHV introduction into their facilities and ponds.  Program participants will receive printed hand-outs and a program CD.  In addition to the regional educational programs intensive short courses on KHV and biosecurity will be offered in conjunction with major trade show association meetings.
